ONE of the world’s great pianists is to give a concert in Warrington – as part of WACIDOM’s autumn programme of free Saturday lunchtime concerts in the town centre.

Sir Stephen Hough, who spent much of his childhood in Thelwall, will appear on Sunday, December 1.
His concert will not be at the usual venue of Holy Trinity Church – because it is a Sunday – and an alternative venue will be announced shortly.
Sir Stephen, a former pupil of Thelwall Junior School, often returns to Warrington to give concerts and on one occasion stepped in to play at Holy Trinity when the scheduled performer was unable to attend.
He was the featured soloist at the recent BBC “Last Night of the Proms” on television.
