Warrington & Vale Royal College has announced its new partnership with Screen Manchester, the film office for Manchester City Council.

At Warrington & Vale Royal College, we’re dedicated to giving students the skills, experience, contacts and confidence to let them thrive in the creative and digital industries. The college has built a strong network of partners since it opened its Advanced Creative & Digital Skills (ACDS) Academy in September 2022, and this list is continuously growing. We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Screen Manchester, which will provide students with vital industry contacts, facetime with industry experts in the form of masterclasses, as well as providing a clear pathway to the world of work after college.
Screen Manchester delivers a comprehensive support service for all types of production seeking permission to film on location within Manchester. Their experienced team have worked on a range of high-end TV, feature film and commercial productions and provides a detailed service which includes; location finding, permissions and liaison, road closures and traffic management clearance, and links to sourcing local crew and facilities.

Stephanie Doyle, Business & Partnerships Manager for the college’s ACDS Academy, is equally thrilled with the new partnership and the opportunities it will provide for not only ACDS students but students across both Warrington and Winsford campuses.
Stephanie said: “The college and Screen Manchester have built a fantastic programme of events for the new academic year, including visits to their Manchester offices and filming locations, masterclasses, and boot camps. The students will also be tasked with a live brief which will culminate in a live production at our Warrington campus, involving students from a variety of curriculum areas. It is incredibly exciting and a fantastic opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the film industry and learn from real-life industry role models.”

Elli Metcalfe, Screen Manchester’s Crew and Facilities Manager, says: “We couldn’t be more delighted than we are to be joining forces with Warrington & Vale Royal College’s Advanced Creative and Digital Skills Academy. At Screen Manchester, one of our major driving forces is opening up the Film and High-End TV Industry to as diverse a talent pool as possible. We know this is how we will future-proof talent in our region. The excellent work being done in Warrington already makes our target more readily achievable, and we can’t wait to bring the world of production to life through direct contact with our wide and varied list of experts who will share their invaluable experience through direct, meaningful and practical activities.”

The college looks forward to sharing all of the wonderful stories which will come as a result of the exciting new partnership.
