WARRINGTON Rylands travelled home from Workington with a point earned but felt they had lost two points as they were held to a 1 – 1 draw.

Hitting the woodwork twice and keeper Alex Mitchell denying The Blues with two great saves was frustrating, but two professional fouls when through on goal really hurt.

The Reds were really under pressure in the latter stages of the first half as Rylands, refreshed by last weekend’s FA Cup victory, totally dominated the game. James Baillie headed over, Ntumba Massanka’s header was saved and Ben Hardcastle saw his shot bounce off the post and back into play. Surprisingly the referee blew his whistle early which saved the hosts from going a goal down.

As Warrington continued the attack at the start of the second half a long clearance by Mitchell caught them out of position. From the resultant corner Steve Swinglehurst stuck his foot out to sneak a goal against the run of play.

Rylands had to wait another 20 minutes before Massanka beat the offside trap to slot the ball into the Workington net for the equaliser.

Warrington stayed in control and towards the end of the game Liam Morris hit the post, but thanks to an amazing double save from Luke Pilling both sides went home with a point.
Warrington Rylands now look to The Hive Arena at Gorsey Lane on Tuesday where they will face up to FC United.
