Indoor bowls league expands

JUST three months after it launched, Warrington’s indoor bowling league is expanding.
The popularity of the league – which offers bowlers an alternative to outdoor crown green bowling in the winter – has been such that an additional session has been introduced.
Long mat bowling already takes place on a Monday afternoon and a Friday evening at the Birchwood Indoor Tennis and Leisure Centre, but given the demand a Wednesday afternoon session has now been added to the schedule.
New teams and individuals are welcome to join the league, please contact John Kirkham on 01925 764772 or email [email protected] for more information.
The league officially started in October when the first long mat bowling facility in the town became available
Bowling mats are placed over the tennis courts to enable the league to operate.
