New traffic restrictions set to come into force outside school

FURTHER traffic restrictions are set to come into force outside St Phillip C of E primary School at Westbrook to improve highway safety.

The new restrictions prohibit the use of motor vehicles during the hours of 8:30 am to 8:55 am and 2:55 pm and 3:30 pm Monday-Friday, during term time on the East-West section of Westbrook Centre.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers on 28th August 2024. The effect of the Order is to introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles on Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 8:55am and 2:55pm to 3:30pm (term time only) on the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, Pedal Cycles and Invalid Carriages will be permitted.
The Order will be effective from 4th September 2024.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from 28th August 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
SCHEDULE
PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES, MONDAY TO FRIDAY BETWEEN 8:30AM TO 8:55AM & 2:55PM TO 3:30PM (TERM TIME ONLY)
Westbrook Centre (East-West Section) – From its junction with Westbrook Crescent for approximately 120 metres in an easterly direction, for vehicles travelling in only an easterly direction.
Westbrook Centre (East-West Section) – From a point approximately 120 metres north east of its junction with Westbrook Crescent to its junction with Westbrook Centre (North/South Section).
