Man attacked in town centre bar

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for witnesses of an attack on a man in a town centre bar.
The assault was in the toilets at the Postern Gate pub in St Austin’s Lane at around 12.15am on December 23 and it left a 43-year-old man requiring 10 stitches to cuts above his nose and right eyebrow.
It is believed the attacker used a bottle or glass in the incident.
The victim was taken to Warrington Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was later discharged following treatment.
The bar was busy at the time of the incident and it is believed that there were other people in the toilet at the time.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, which might assist with their enquiries, to get in touch.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101.
Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
A 28-year-old man from Warrington has been arrested in connection with the incident but freed on bail pending further enquiries.
