The Mayor of Warrington has visited Southport today, Friday, to lay flowers in tribute to the victims of the recent attack.

Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Wendy Johnson, alongside her consort Beverley Hallam, met with the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns, to offer condolences on behalf of Warrington. She also laid flowers at the Atkinson Gallery, where a vigil was held earlier this week.
Cllr Johnson said: “It has been a truly heart-breaking week for Southport and its communities. As a near neighbour, Warrington stands in firm solidarity with Southport. We mourn the loss of the victims, grieve for the families and friends of those taken, and pray for those who have been injured and affected by the horrifying attack.”

Warrington Town Hall will also be lit up pink tonight in solidarity with Southport. A number of public sector buildings in the region and indeed nationally are expected to light up their buildings this evening in tribute to the victims of the attack.
