Craft exhibition for museum

0

AN exhibition of contemporary British Craft opens at Warrington Museum on Saturday, January 28.
It will be held in one of the museum’s recently refurbished galleries and on show will be work by a number of nationally renowned craft makers from around the country, including local craftspeople in a special “Warrington Made” section.
The exhibition follows on from the success of the recent arts and crafts fair, organised as part of the first Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival.
Derek Kick, from the Museum has teamed up with local jeweller Heather Fox to launch the new venture.
Heather started making jewellery at an evening class before returning to university in 2004 to study for a degree in Applied Arts, Jewellery and Metalwork.
She set up her own business in 2007 as part of her professional practice studies and has since exhibited at various shows and galleries across the country.
Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase unique craftwork, including jewellery, ceramics, prints and textiles.
