CROSFEST 2024 promises to be another day of fun and music and festival organiser Peter Aramayo and his team are ready to deliver for the 4th year in a row!
Following a pretty wet summer so far, let’s hope August will bring the long awaited change and the crowds will turn up again armed with their trusty camping chairs and tables ready for a good day out.
Many seasoned veterans of the festival know what’s coming but if you are a ‘newbie’ you can expect to be greeted by friendly gate staff and the secure fenced-off training field of Crosfields Rugby Club which will be bordered by a myriad of brightly coloured flags fluttering in the breeze. No long festival treks from stage to stage required here, it’s all directly in front of you – a nice looking stage with adjoining DJ booth and two fantastic digital screens linked to a mobile camera being skilfully operated for maximum crowd and stage filming.
This event is super-organised with plenty of bars and very reasonably priced drinks for a festival. However, the families are not forgotten with children’s craft tents, sweeties and plenty of food stalls with choices ranging from simple chips to gourmet burgers , teas , coffee and cake to keep everybody happy.
But what about the music? Crosfest is a day for crowd pleasing covers performed by solo singers with backing tracks, electro acoustic performers and five-piece bands. Peter has again, managed to secure the services of the excellent Ska band – ‘01482Tones’ with their own Monkey Man to keep the crowd bopping along to the sounds of Madness,The Specials and many more familiar tunes before the event closes with headliners ‘Haze’ – the popular high energy 4 piece band.
Tickets are very reasonably priced for a mini festival of a full day’s entertainment and early booking is advised as tickets do sell quickly.
