Trapped casualty released after car leaves road

FIREFIGHTERS used specialist cutting equipment to help release a trapped casualty after a car left the road following a collision near Warrington.

At  21:44 last night (Friday), three crews from Warrington, Penketh and Merseyside Fire & Rescue attended reports of a road traffic collision on Pennington Lane, Collins Green.

Firefighters were called to a one-vehicle collision. On arrival, they found that the vehicle had left the road and there was one casualty trapped.

Crews released the casualty using specialist cutting equipment and the casualty was then handed over to the care of paramedics and taken to hospital.
