Man charged after town centre stabbing incident during arrest

A 32-year-old man has appeared at Warrington Magistrates to face a number of charges including attempted section 18 wounding with intent to resist arrest following a stabbing incident in the town centre.

Pranas Zaliauskis, from Lovely Lane in Warrington appeared at Warrington Magistrates on Saturday 29 June.

He also faced charges of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, heroin and crack cocaine, obstructing a S.23 search, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article.

He will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 29 July.

The charges related to an incident in Warrington town centre on Thursday 27 June when officers stop searched Zaliauskis.
