Road closure scheduled for Lyons Lane Appleton

A road closure of up to three weeks will come into force on Lyons Lane, Appleton next month (July) to allow Scottish Power to carry out network reinforcement works.

The works will commence on July 22nd after the start of the school holidays for minimum disruption.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Lyons Lane from its junction with London Road to its junction with Park Crescent.

The Order will be effective from 22nd July 2024 for 3 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via London Road, Longwood Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out network reinforcement works.
