WIRE couple Roxy and Rob Jones were overwhelmed with emotion as they delivered flowers and tributes from Warrington Wolves and local supporters to pay tribute to Rugby league legend Rob Burrow.
As the Rugby League family united as one to pay tribute to Rugby League legend Rob Burrow who has sadly died aged 41 from motor neurone disease Roxy and Rob travelled to Headingly last night to pay their own respects.
Before heading off they collected flowers and tributes from other Wire fans and Warrington Wolves to show the support of the Rugby League family.
Roxy said: “We we overwhelmed by emotion to see the whole Rugby league family uniting to pay tribute and show their respects to Rob Burrow. It was also great to see Warrington Wolves sending flowers with their own tribute.
As the couple arrived at the South stand to deliver their tributes they were greeted with a sea of blue and yellow tributes from flowers and scarfs, to flags and shirts.
Rob Burrow died at the age of 41. The Leeds Rhinos legend was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019, two years after retiring from playing. He won eight Super League titles and two Challenge Cup trophies with Leeds during his 17-year career; he also played for England and Great Britain.
After being diagnosed with the illness, he dedicated himself to raising awareness and funds for the MND community with the support of close friend and former Leeds team-mate Kevin Sinfield.
