CARING for others and helping individuals and local organisations has led to Warrington’s Charlotte Smith winning the title of North West Young Ambassador.
She has been nominated to enter the national finals in Birmingham in February.
A pupil of Birchwood Sixth Form Community College, l7-year-old Charlotte was nominated by Birchwood Lions after several meetings and interviews.
She has travelled to South Africa frequently, assisting with learning developing facilities for an orphanage as well as helping others in the local community less fortunate than herself.
Winning the competition not only meant that Charlotte received a trophy but she also received a large sum of money to be donated to the needy causes of her choice.
Lions President Ken Whibley said: “Charlotte is one of the most dedicated young persons I have ever met. All too often we hear of negative comments about a minority of young people. In Charlotte, we have a shining example of the good which exists in the majority of our youngsters.”
