IT’S never too old to chase a dream – that’s the motto of Vicky Ellis from High Legh who heads off to Portugal on May 26 to represent the UK in the Lady Star Universe beauty pageant.

The dream? To win an international beauty title at the aged of 59.
Mother-of-two Vicky claims to have been the most successful beauty queen of the 80s, winning more than 50 major titles.
She was once contacted by the Guinness Book of Records because it was believed she had won more beauty contests than anyone else.
At 17 she was the youngest contestant in the Miss Great Britain contest in 1983 – and came third.
In 2021 at 56 she was the oldest of 60 finalists in the Ms Great Britain Classic contest.
Following in the footsteps of her mother, who also won a number of beauty competitions, she has over the years won holidays, cars and even a flight on Concorde.
But she now wants an international title at 59!
