First league victory for Latchford Albion

LATCHFORD Albion recorded their first league victory of the campaign – thanks to a strong second-half performance that led to a final score line of 20-10.

The game was a very close affair in the opening exchanges, with both sides trying to gain an advantage and the first score did not arrive until the 35th minute when the visitors crossed out wide.
Albion’s response was immediate and before half time the scores had been levelled following Logan Lagar’s try.

With the score 4-4, Albion came out strongly in the second half and two tries in the opening 10 minutes put them in control.
First, Ben Harper burst through the oncoming defence to score, Jack Phillips converting.
Then Josh Barnard crossed out wide following good hands across the line from the Latchford backs.

Folly hit back with a converted try on the hour mark, but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly extinguished when a quick fire double from Mike Walker sealed the game for the hosts.

A late try from River Cole ensured Latchford came away with a great victory.

Albion are at home again this weekend, with a Friday night clash hosting Orrell St. James , kick off 7.30pm
