Staying safe in the party season

REVELLERS planning to hit the town during the festive party season are being given tips on staying safe and avoiding trouble.
With just a month to go before the big day a campaign is being launched tomorrow (Friday) by Warrington Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) supported by Cheshire Police.
Phaze, Warrington’s youth support service, is backing the campaign and will be visiting local colleges and sixth forms during December to share tips on how to stay safe while out partying.
Tips for staying safe include drinking responsibly, walking away from trouble and keeping drinks in sight. People are also advised to “look out” for everyone in the group and plan how to get home at the end of the night.
DAAT is also working with Warrington and Stockton Heath pubwatch schemes on the campaign, which is being launched at The Cotton Mill pub, Barbauld Street.
Cllr Pat Wright, (pictured) the borough council’s executive member for health and wellbeing, said: “This Christmas campaign aims to help everyone to stay safe while enjoying themselves on festive nights out.
“Whatever age you are, check out our website – www.warrington.gov.uk – for tips on how to make sure you and your friends stay safe.”
