VOTING for borough, parish and Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections takes place tomorrow, Thursday 2 May, with an all out election in Warrington.

Results for borough elections will be counted and announced on Saturday and parish elections on Sunday with the count taking place at Birchwood Leisure Centre.
A full list of candidates for the borough elections can be seen below.

Here’s everything you need to know on elections day:

Voting in person
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. You can find your polling station at wheredoivote.co.uk/.

Remember your photo ID when voting in person
Valid forms of photo identification include driver’s licences, passports, concessionary travel passes, PAA cards and Ministry of Defence identity cards.

More information about the voter identification policy, as well as a full list of accepted forms of photo ID can be found on GOV.UK.

Handing in your postal votes
On Thursday 2 May, postal packs can be handed in at any polling station in the borough between 7am and 10pm. A postal vote hand in form must be completed by the person handing them in for postal packs to be accepted.
You can also hand in postal votes at the reception at 1 Time Square and the Town Hall during normal office hours (8.30am – 4.30pm at the Town Hall and 8.45am – 5pm at 1 Time Square). The person handing them in will also have to complete a postal vote hand in form for the postal pack/s to be accepted.
The council can only accept a maximum of five postal packs plus your own for the Borough/PCC election and five postal packs plus your own for Parish elections.

Proxy voting
If you are voting on behalf of someone, you will need to take your own photo ID with you to the polling station.

Accessibility support
There is lots of support to help people to cast their vote, including translated materials for those with English as a second language, as well as accessible materials for disabled voters. There’s also support to help disabled voters to vote in person:
• Disabled voters can now choose anyone who is over 18 to accompany them in the polling station to help them vote
• Aids to help disabled people to vote, such as braille ballot paper information, pencil grips, tactile voting devices and magnifiers
