POLICE have named a man they wish to speak to in relation to a number of thefts of poppy collection boxes in the Warrington and Frodsham areas over the last two weeks.
Detectives say they are keen to speak to 33-year-old Bradley Higham who is from the Birchwood area of Warrington.
Officers ask that anyone who knows of his current or recent whereabouts should contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000.
Similarly, they ask for Bradley Higham to come forward and present himself at his nearest police station.
Chief Inspector Jon Ward said “We are keen for this man to come forward in order for my officers to continue their investigations into this very emotive crime that has caused a great deal of concern and upset within the communities of Frodsham and Warrington.
“I would make a personal appeal for Bradley Higham to present himself at his nearest police station or make contact with us as a matter of urgency”.
Eight incidents were reported to police in the week of November 5, when two collection tins were stolen from the Royal British Legion and an off-licence at Culcheth.
The following day the suspect was captured on CCTV stealing a poppy cash collection from chip shop on Station Road South, Padgate and later the same day a similar theft took place at the Spar store on Thelwall New Road, Grappenhall.
More thefts took place from the Frodsham branch of the HSBC bank and then Main Street Post Office, Frodsham on November 8.
Later the same day there was a theft from a Travelodge in Chester.
On November 11, while the nation mourned those who have given their lives in conflict, the thief stole a collection box from a bakery on Church Street in Frodsham.
