CHRISTMAS officially starts at Warrington tomorrow (Thursday) with shops at Golden Square staying open until 9pm, free parking from 4pm and a special festive “Giveaway” event.
There will be free shopping competitions and giveaways – and on Thursdays “Shopping Angels” will be out and about selecting lucky shoppers who will have their shopping paid for.
If no angel is in sight, shoppers can present their receipts at the customer service desk to be entered into a Christmas draw to win their money back.
A “safe cracker” competition in the heart of the shopping centre will offer a car as prize.
On Friday, singer and TV host Peter Andre (pictured) will switch on the Christmas lights and perform some of his biggest hits.
Santa’s grotto will be open in the Old Market Place from November 24 until Christmas Eve.
A craft fair will also be open until Christmas Eve and schools and other organisations will be singing carols throughout December.
