DRUG squad officers, acting on a tip from the public, swooped on a property at Warrington and discovered a cannabis factory.
The dawn raid was at a property in Greymist Avenue, Woolston.
Nearly 70 cannabis plants of various sizes were discovered in an outbuilding on the site.
The plants and equipment used to grow them were seized and taken away for further investigation.
No one has yet been arrested in connection with the raid but enquiries are continuing.
PC Debbie Morgan said: “We are committed to tackling illegal drugs in the local community. We will not tolerate any sort of behaviour that has a negative effect on the lives of others.
“This warrant was executed as a result of information that was passed on from members of the public. This sort of information is vital in the fight against drug related crime.
“We will continue to react swiftly and positively to any information in relation to illegal drugs in the town and we would urge anyone with any information to get in touch. Even the smallest amount of information can be vital when piecing together a case.”
