Kate aims for TV fame

WANNABE TV star Kate McCollom has reached the final shortlist of contestants in a nationwide talent search.
Kate, 31, from Stockton Heath, Warrington is one of just 12 hopefuls competing to become a presenter on an online TV channel.
If she wins, she will get a chance to interview celebrity stylist Kate Halfpenny and also present exclusive fashion and beauty news on the channel.
Kate is a former Miss Cheshire, Vale Royal Face of 2002, and Miss Scotland as well as being a Miss England finalist in 2003.
She entered the contest at a Warrington store, where she had one minute in front of the camera to impress the judges with her presenting style.
Then she went to London to face a series of filming challenges to test her mettle as a potential TV presenter.
If she reaches the final three, the public will then vote for the winner by watching videos they have made.
The winner will get a filming contract worth £5,000 – and a pair of X-Factor final tickets.
Kate said: “I love fashion and using clothes to show off my personality. Fashion and TV are my life and I’m so thrilled to have made it to the next round. I have wanted to be a TV presenter for as long as I can remember and I’ve worked really hard at it – I even keep my own online diary of my life as a corporate host on a private airline.
“It was such a shock to find out that I’m in the final 12. I really wasn’t expecting it as I didn’t have much time to prepare for the auditions. I didn’t really think anything would come of it.”
