POLICE are investigating two tragic incidents in which girls from Warrington are believed to have died.
North Wales Police say a seven-year-old girl, named as Harriet Hubball, from Warrington died after being rushed to hospital from a caravan site at Talybont, near Barmouth. Her death was not being treated as suspicious.
It is understood the girl was staying with her father in a touring caravan on the site while her grandparents were staying at another site.
Ambulances were called to the site in response to a “medical emergency.”
The coroner’s office for North West Wales said tests were being carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, a teenage girl, believed to be from Warrington, has died following an incident involving a hang glider at Darley Moor Airfield, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire on Friday.
There were reports of a hang glider getting into difficulty and falling to the ground from around 50 ft. A 16-year-old girl, believed to be from Great Sankey, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham but she later died of her injuries.
The incident is now being investigated by the Department of Transport’s air accident investigation branch.
Derbyshire Police are investigating the incident.
