THREE fire crews attended smoke-logged premises on Bridge Street in Warrington town centre believed to have been caused by an intruder alarm being activated.

At 16:33 three fire engines from Warrington, Penketh and Birchwood attended the commercial premises on Bridge Street.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using gas monitors undertook a thorough search of the commercial premises affected by smoke logging.

They found no sign of fire and believed the smoke had been emitted by a ‘cloaking’ system designed to deter intruders.
