Gang in attack on lorry driver

DETECTIVES are appealing for help from the public following an attempted robbery at Warrington.
The incident took place at 7.30am at the Poplars 2000 Services in Cliff Lane, Lymm when a lorry driver, resting in the cab of his vehicle, was disturbed by someone knocking on the door.
He went to investigate and was attacked by a group of four men who then searched the rear of the trailer and then fled scene empty handed across waste ground.
The 52-year-old driver was not injured as a result of the incident.
The four men were of slim build and ranged from 5ft 10 inches to 6ft in height. They were all wearing black face masks and gloves.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, which might assist detectives with their enquiries, is urged to call police on 0845 458 0000.
