PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for the demolition of an unsafe outbuilding at a popular Warrington pub.
The building at the Dog and Partridge in Manchester Road is said to be a risk to the public and staff at the pub.
Warrington Borough Council planners were told the building has crumbling brickwork and weeds are growing out of the roof.
The scheme will involve dismantling the building carefully, starting with the roof and then slowly dismantling the walls. The bricks will be cleaned and safely stacked for any future development works. The site will be secured while the work is being carried out to ensure the safety of the public.
The pub has a beer garden and play area and removal of the unused building will ensure the safety of people using the external areas, according to the applicants.
Neither the pub nor the outbuilding are Listed and the site is not within a conservation area.
