LOCAL animal charity, Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW) neutered 79 cats during a three-day event to help reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned kittens in the area.

The charity offered local people the opportunity to get their cat neutered and chipped for only £10 as part of the special community neutering campaign.
Part of the World Spay Day campaign taking place on 27 February, which aims to show the importance of neutering pets, the charity assisted cat owners on benefits or low income in Warrington, Widnes, and Runcorn.
The event, to promote responsible pet ownership was held at the WAW on-site neutering clinic and saw a remarkable 79 cats spayed or castrated, micro-chipped, health-checked and returned to their owners.
Now in its fourth year, the event was made possible by a team of 14 volunteer vets and vet nurses working in partnership with the charity and dedicated volunteers who supported by collecting and dropping off cats, cleaning, and administration.
