A shoplifter was arrested in Warrington town centre at the weekend thanks to help from CCTV operators.

On Saturday a Town Centre Beat Manager was on hand to “feel the collar” of a male alleged to have stolen clothing from TK Maxx by de-tagging in the fitting room.

The officer was ably assisted by Warrington Borough Council and Golden Square CCTV operators who soon located the male – made easier by him helpfully wearing all white and carrying red gift bags.

The male has since been charged with Theft and Going Equipped to Steal and will appear in court soon.
