M6 slip road closed while firefighters tackle pick-up truck blaze

THE exit slip road from the M6 north Junction 20 near Lymm was closed earlier today as firefighters tackled a vehicle fire.

At 11:49 One fire engine from Lymm and one fire engine from Altrincham (Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service) were called to reports of a vehicle fire on the M6 North at junction 20.

The exit slip road was closed while crews tackled a fire involving a pick-up truck.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to dampen the flames. There was no report of any injuries and the slip road has since re-opened.
