St Rocco’s annual Christmas tree collection raises over £40,000

100 volunteers recently travelled across Warrington picking up Christmas trees for St Rocco’s annual tree collection campaign.

This year, over 2,600 trees were recycled.  The event saw residents of Warrington book a tree collection in return for a donation to St Rocco’s Hospice so that they can continue to care for people and families facing end-of-life care.
Charlotte, Senior Events Manager, said “St Rocco’s Hospice is a local charity, and they rely on the generosity of the Warrington community for most of their funding.  Your donations for this event have helped us raise an incredible £40,000 and this money will go straight to caring for patients and their loved ones.  But we couldn’t have achieved this without the help of our volunteers, and we are so grateful for all their hard work.”

Chris from Sandstone Supplies said, “This is my son’s fourth year helping and he is only 9 years old!  He says it’s the best day of the year and is already looking forward to next year.  Well done to everyone involved.”
A huge thank you to all the companies and volunteers who supported this event including: Warrington Borough Council, BT Skips, HMS, Warrington Electrical Supplies, B-Engineering Group, Sandstone Supplies, Beesley & Fildes, Beechwood Industries, SP Energy Networks, S Xpress Transport, Urban Garden Projects, Buzz Building Services, Colas, Standard Fuel Oils, Excavation & Contracting Ltd, CEF, PSD Vehicle Rental, Asda, McDonalds, Warrington Sports Club, Reddish Farm Lymm, Birchwood High School and Partridge Lakes Fisheries.
