Drink-drive suspect who fled crash scene charged

A drink-drive suspect who fled the scene of a collision at Lymm early on Monday morning has been arrested and charged.

It follows a car colliding with a fence and the driver fleeing the scene on Rushgreen Road.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 5.19 am on Monday 15 January police were called to Rushgreen Road in Lymm following a report of a car colliding with a fence and the driver fleeing the scene.

“Following police enquiries, a 40-year-old man was arrested at an address in the village. He has since been charged with failing to provide a specimen.”

He has been bailed to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on February 21st.
