Busy town centre road to close to allow new electrical installation

A busy Warrington town centre road is set to close next month (February) while works take place to install a new electrical connection.

There will be a prohbition of driving on Pinners Brow (northeast traffic) from its junction with Winwick Street to its junction with Lythgoes Lane, from 7pm-6am to allow Scottish Power to install a nerw electrical connection.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Pinners Brow (northeast traffic) from its junction with Winwick Street to its junction with Lythgoes Lane.
The Order will be effective from 5th February 2024 for 4 days, between 7pm and 6am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Midland Way and Lythgoes Lane and via Bewsey Road, Folly Lane, Kerfoot Street and Winwick Road. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to install a new electrical connection.
