Domino’s pizza takeaway plan opposed by residents

SEVEN nearby residents have lodged objections to proposals for a hot food takeaway in Pepper Street, Lymm.

Lymm Parish Council has also expressed concern over the scheme.

But planning officers are recommending the plan, which involves a change of use of the existing Lymm Indian restaurant to a Domino’s pizza takeaway.
The scheme will come before Warrington’s development management committee on Wednesday, January 17.

Objectors fear increased noise, litter, anti-social behaviour and loss of parking spaces currently used by residents.
They also claim the appearance of the shop will be out of character with the area, which is in a conservation area and is only 25 metres from the historic Grade 1 Listed Lymm Cross.
Some objectors say the development should not be encouraged because of the obesity crisis in the UK.
However, planning officers say the proposed change of use is considered acceptable and should not have any adverse impact on the character and appearance of the conservation area or Lymm Cross.
