Man arrested after post office raid

A MAN has been arrested following an armed robbery at a post office near Warrington.
The raid was at the post office in Glazebrook Lane, Glazebrook shortly at around 12.30pm yesterday (Monday).
Two men entered the premises, one armed with a machete. They demanded and made threats towards an elderly customer, causing the postmaster to intervene.
One of the offenders struck the postmaster with the machete causing an injury to his hand.
The raiders took cash from an open till and fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Golf driven by a third man waiting outside.
Subsequently, detectives arrested a 25-year-old man from Irlam on suspicion of robbery.
He is still being questioned in police custody.
