STOCKTON Heath Parish Council is aiming to maintain close links with the local community on climate-related issues during the coming year.
The council has announced its willingness to help with the setting up of a community-led group dedicated to environmental initiatives.
Individuals interested in getting involved are being asked to contact the council via email at [email protected] or by calling 01925 210558.
The move follows a successful “Our bit of the planet” event held at Stockton Heath Library earlier this month which attracted a number of local organisations, including Wild about Stockton Heath
(WASH), Warrington Climate Commission, Walton Lea Partnership, Lymm Environmental Action Forum (LEAF), and Stockton Heath Allotment Association.
Cllr Sharon Harris (pictured) said: “The success of ‘Our bit of the Planet’ demonstrates the community’s collective commitment to taking meaningful action on climate issues. We are excited to build on this momentum and continue to work together towards a more sustainable future for Stockton Heath.”
