WARRINGTON Town bowed out of the F.A Cup despite a spirited display as they went down 3-1 at higher league Bradford Park Avenue.
Town had a dream start when Anthony Hickey (pictured right) scored form the penalty spot after just three minutes after his strike partenr Jack McGowan was brought down by the keeper on the six yard line.
Despite being the last line of defence the keeper only got a yellow card and was lucky not to have been given a straight red which would have put a different complexion on the game.
Warrington were the better team for much of the first half but lost young centre back River Humphries with a back injury which seemed to upset the balance of the team, with right back Mike Duffy coming off the bench to fill in at the heart of the defence.
The home side levelled just before the break when Richard Marshall let fly from outside the box and although Chris Oldfield got a hand to the ball it ended up in the back of the net to make it 1-1 at the interval.
Lifted by their goal Bradford Park gradually got more into the game and took the lead on 68 minutes as Marshall headed home unmarked from the a corner.
As Warrington pushed for an equaliser they were exposed at the back as Duffy lost possession to substitute Billy Law who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
Town now have a league game at home to Wakefield who also bowed out of the FA Cup 4-1 to Kendal, on Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm, followed by a trip to Sheffield in the F.A Trophy next Saturday.
