A new study has revealed Warrington as the 10th cheapest place in the UK to purchase a town centre living space.
The research by Hiatt Hardware analysed the most populated towns and cities in the UK, the average monthly salary of residents in those cities (after taxes) and the price per square metre of an apartment in each city centre to reveal the percentage of annual wages spent on living space.
Rising house prices and interest rates coupled with the cost of living crisis has delayed many from buying properties lately. Buyers want to get the biggest bang for their buck, so Hiatt Hardware analysed where in the UK are you getting the most space for your money.
The study reveals Warrington residents spend less than 9% of their wages on a town centre flat.
Warrington ranks 10th in the study, with residents spending 8.38% of their annual salary per square metre for a town centre apartment. Residents make £22,800 annually on average, with the average house price in Warrington costing £1,910 per square metre. This is relatively affordable compared to those in London spending a third of their salary per square metre!
