THE River of Life memorial on Bridge Street, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the IRA bomb attack on Warrington is undergoing urgent maintenance.

The fountain, also known as the Well of Light, as part of the River of Life memorial on Bridge Street was developed as a memorial to the victims of the Warrington Bombing in 1993 which claimed the lives of three-year-old Johnathan Ball and 12-year-old Tim Parry.

Fencing has been put up around the entire memorial and will remain there until the works are completed.

A spokesperson for Warrington Borough Council said: “We are working to ensure the repair and maintenance work is concluded as soon as possible.”

The 30th anniversary event earlier this year marked the final formal commemoration of the bombing.
