Winwick Lane closed following five-vehicle collision

WINWICK Lane, Warrington, was closed this morning following a five-vehicle collision believed to have been caused by icy conditions.

Police attended at the scene on Winwick Lane at 6am following a collision involving a black Ford panel van, blue Renault Clio, HGV, red Suzuki Swift and a blue Ford Fiesta.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “There were no reports of any injuries but the road is currently closed while the vehicles are recovered and gritting is undertaken.”

The road was shut from junction 22 for the M6 at Winwick to the A572 Newton Road, Lowton.
