THE popular Rope & Anchor pub at Woolston is back open for Christmas and set for a £450,000 refurbishment in the New Year, securing its long-term future.
Locals were left shocked when the premises suddenly closed at the end of October after brewery JW Lees was unable to find a suitable new tenant.
But the premises re-opened for the first time yesterday, Monday and will now remain open throughout the Christmas period until January 28, when it will close for a major £450,000 refurbishment, re-opening next March
