Fire crews help rescue trapped casualty following two-vehicle collison on M56

THREE fire crews were called to help rescue a trapped casualty following a two-vehicle collision on the M56 near Stretton during rush hour yesterday evening.

At 17:21 crews from Warrington, Lymm and Runcorn attended reports of a two-vehicle collision on the M56 westbound near J10 at Stretton

Firefighters helped release one casualty from a car. The person was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
Firefighters also made a second vehicle safe and were at the scene for around 80 minutes.
All three lanes were closed during the rescue operation which resulted in traffic delays in and around the area.
All lanes have since reopened.
