WORLD Mental Health Day will be marked in Warrington with a series of coffee mornings throughout the month of October.
NHS Warrington is inviting community groups to show their support for the day on Monday, October 10 by organising a coffee morning themed around the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’.
A cup of tea or coffee and a chat with a friend can be very beneficial for a person’s health and wellbeing.
The ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ are simple everyday actions which cxan help people feel better about themselves. They encourage people to connect with one another, become more active, take notice of what is around them and give up some of time for others and to learn new things.
The Primary Care Trust will provide a free resource pack containing campaign materials for interested groups and will also help local groups to organise their events.
World Mental Health Day raises public awareness about mental health issues by promoting more open discussions around mental health. The coffee mornings will be an opportunity for local people to find out more about the support available in Warrington and to learn more about how to take part in free physical activities.
The PCT is also keen to hear from community groups who may have already planned a community event for October, as these will also be invited to adopt the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’

Great idea for local community centres to get people through their doors.
