Ten houses to be built on site of former office building

PLANS for a development of 10 houses on the site of a former office building have been given the go-ahead by Warrington planning chiefs.

The scheme involves the former Cruden Construction offices on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, which have been standing empty for some time.

Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council had opposed the scheme on the grounds the site had a dangerous access onto Knutsford Road.
The development will include a number of affordable homes.
The developers say the scheme will improve the appearance of the site and result in a high quality residential development respecting the existing character of the area.
There will be changes to the site access, with the existing two accesses reduced to one.
Warrington Borough Council planning officers say although the scheme will have a greater impact on the Green Belt than the existing office building, it will have an enhanced appearance in keeping with the immediate area.

  1. How are they going to slow down the traffic coming from the Mways and still doing Mway speeds? They’re still doing these speeds over the canal bridge towards the traffic lights.
