Woman arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and assault on emergency worker following crash on M56

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and assaulting an emergency vehicle following a two-vehicle collision on the M56 at Stretton last week.

The woman, who has been released under investigation is also accused of failing to stop after a collision.

Emergency services, including fire crews attended at the scene following the two-vehicle collision shortly before 10 pm last Wednesday night between junctions 9-10 near Stretton.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 9.55 pm on Wednesday, October 25, police were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the M56 eastbound, between junction nine and 10.
“A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving, assaulting an emergency worker and failing to stop after a collision.
“She has since been released under investigation.”
