Road closures at Grappenhall and Stretton for new water connections

TWO road closures are set to come into force in the Grappenhall and Stretton areas of Warrington tomorrow, Tuesday, to allow United Utilities to install new water connections.

Works are set to start on York Road, Grappenhall and Well Lane, Stretton, tomorrow Tuesday, October 10.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on York Road from its junction with Middlehurst Road to its junction with Harwood Gardens.
The Order will be effective from 10th October 2023 for 3 days, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Chester Road, Hill Top Road, Victoria Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.

The Council has also made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Well Lane from its junction with Common Lane to its junction with Mosshall Lane.
The Order will be effective from 10th October 2023 for 1 day, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.
