Voyage of the well-being boat

A “WELL-being boat” visited Lymm and offered visitors fun sessions including painting, massage and the chance to relax on comfortable sofas.
More than 70 people visited the brightly-coloured boat when it moored in the centre of Lymm.
The boat has recently been renovated for use as a learning space along the waterways in the region.
It moored outside the Youth and Community Centre and the organisers provided publicity and materials for a range of activities.
Local amateur artist Helena Edwards ran art sessions on the narrowboat, and people of all ages enjoyed decorating wooden spoons, plant pots and paper plates. Others enjoyed a neck and shoulder massage or just relaxed on board.
A volunteer from the Department of Health provided information on health issues and sources of support.
One of the day organisers Masoud Sanii said: “The wellbeing boat crew received a warm welcome from the community in Lymm.
“Local people were keen to access our art and wellbeing sessions, largely due to high levels of confidence in the wide range of support on offer at the Lymm Youth and Community Centre.”
