Up to five weeks of road closures confirmed for carriageway repairs at Cantilever Bridge approaches

UP to five weeks of road closures have been confirmed next month (November) for carriageway repairs on the approaches to the Cantilever Bridge at Stockton Heath, Warrington.

To minimise traffic disruptions the closures will be in place from 7 pm in the evening until 1 am, starting from November 6.

The closures involve the Southeastern and Southwestern approaches at the junction of Ackers Road.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Cantilever Bridge Southeastern Approach from the junction at Ackers Road to the Cantilever Bridge; Cantilever Bridge Southwestern Approach from the junction at Ackers Road to the Cantilever Bridge.

The Order will be effective from 6th November 2023 for 5 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Station Road, Knutsford Road, Hunts Lane, Ackers Road and vice versa or via Station Road, Wash Lane, Loushers Lane, Wilderspool Causeway, Grappenhall Road, Chester Road, Ackers Road and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for Carriageway resurfacing.
