DETECTIVES investigating reports of high-value romance fraud have charged a 37-year-old man in connection with the allegations.
Cieran Griffin was arrested in Nuneaton on Friday 29 September and transported to Cheshire following investigations by Cheshire Police’s Economic Crime Unit.
The 37-year-old from Coventry, has since been charged with three counts of fraud by false representation.
Griffin appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Saturday 30 September where he was remade in custody. He is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 27 October.
The charges relate to allegations of romance fraud involving three women from Cheshire, Warwickshire and Hertfordshire.
