Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 2, 6, 8 and 14 – and one winner claimed the £137 jackpot prize. A £25 consolation prize went to a member of hospital staff.
Council meeting
THE next meeting of Warrington Borough Council takes place at the Town Hall on Monday, September 5, starting at 6.30pm.
Car wash
A BIKINI car wash at the Dog and Partridge pub, Woolston, Warrington, raised £1,000 in memory of Candice Roberts, of Appleton, who died last year after contracting Guillain-Barre syndrome. The event was organised by childhood friend Kelly-Ann Clarkson to raise awareness of the condition.
Fun show
WOOLSTON and District Show takes place on Sunday, September 4 at Woolston Park, starting at 12.30pm. There will be a fairground, donkey rides, Punch and Judy and other attractions.
Cake baking
A CAKE-making and pastry starts at Longford Neighbourhood Centre café opens on Thursday, October 6. Eight places are available and details are obtainable from centre manager James Jackson on 01925 414631.
