Police name man who died after assault

POLICE today named a man who died following an assault in Warrington on Saturday night.
He was Christopher Murphy, 33, who is from the Padgate area and who died after being the victim of an assault in Martin Avenue.
A post mortem has been carried out but was inconclusive and failed to establish the cause of death.
Police were called to Martin Avenue, Warrington just before 11.40pm on Saturday where the assault took place. Christopher was taken to hospital but died later.
Three men aged 35, 48, and 49 were arrested on suspicion of murder but have now been released on police bail until December.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in Martin Avenue between 11pm and midnight on Saturday and may have witnessed any disturbance or assault.
